Recently announced initiative takes part in its first acts of community kindness with Boys and Girls Club of London and the Dreamcatcher Foundation.
London, Ontario – March 28, 2023 – PSD Citywide® is pleased to announce that the first acts of community kindness through its newly formed PSD CityKind program occurred last week in London, Ontario. Team members from the area were out in full force supporting the Boys and Girls Club of London while also raising funds through an internal employee campaign for the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation.
The newly branded community kindness outreach program was launched as a part of many new initiatives the company has planned for its 20th Anniversary throughout 2023. Last week, team members from the London office spent an evening with the Boys and Girls Club of London, helping with their evening adventure program from 3:30pm to 7:00pm. Team members volunteered in the gym with basketball and soccer, helped kids in the Digital Zone where attendees showed off their guitar hero skills, helped kids in grades 4-8 with their homework, and led a variety of sports and crafting projects.
“This was a great evening and both our PSD CityKind volunteers and the kids really enjoyed their time at Boys and Girls Club of London”, commented Bobbie Farrington, People & Culture Business Partner at PSD Citywide and a PSD CityKind London office volunteer. “Marissa, our team leader, did a great job of coordinating this with the team at the Boys and Girls Club of London. In previous years we’ve made back-to-school backpack donations, and supported their summer water carnival. It’s a wonderful organization that helps provide education resources, social programming and a safe place for kids to go after school and we are happy to be a supporter.”
The company also presented a cheque this week to the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation, to support their efforts to empower the next generation of Indigenous youth. Founded in 2004, the organization is focused on health, education, arts and culture, as well as recreation and sports-related initiatives for youth in over 140 Indigenous communities across Southern Ontario.
