December 22nd, 2020 — The holiday season is the time for generosity and celebration of those in our lives—including those in our communities.
During the pandemic, even more generosity is needed. There are many more people struggling and the saying “it takes a village” is especially impactful now for those raising children during the pandemic.
This year, PSD Citywide partnered with LIFE*SPIN in their Christmas Sponsorship Program to help families in our community. For the past 25 years, this program has been a light during hard times for many low-income families in the London, ON area. In 2019, LIFE*SPIN delivered over 1,400 Christmas hampers to families in need due to a truly inspiring show of support.
As we all know, the holiday season is particularly difficult this year and on a larger scale. That’s why it’s so important for those more fortunate to step up and help people in our communities that are struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Through LIFE*SPIN, families have presents under the tree and food on their tables in a particularly tough year,” says Matt Dawe, Vice President of PSD Citywide. “If you are able to, make a donation to a great cause. There is nothing more heartwarming than communities coming together to help those that need it most.”
PSD Citywide’s employees raised almost $3500 so that 56 children have a present under the tree and 13 families can buy their holiday meal. But it doesn’t need to stop there. Donations are still welcome to LIFE*SPIN and PSD Citywide encourages everyone that is able to get involved.
