What started as a publication has grown to become a full-service municipal advisory and software company supporting local government clients across North America.
London, Ontario – February 28, 2023 – It turns out that 2023 is a big year for PSD Citywide® as the municipal advisory and software company enters its 20th year helping to build stronger communities. To celebrate, the company has a variety of internal events for employees and new community-focused initiatives as it continues its rapid growth across North America.
It all began in 2003, when the municipal advisory and software company launched as a publication known as “The Public Sector Digest”, offering compelling and timely insights for public sector leaders in Canada. Soon, these insights along with the company started being referred to simply as “PSD” by loyal readers and followers. In 2007, the company entered the software space with the launch of Citywide Assets, the first module in what would become the broader Citywide Platform. This initial foray into asset management software eventually led to the establishment of a dedicated advisory services team in 2014 providing asset management strategies, plans, and guidance for local governments across Canada.
The next six years would prove to be a time of great expansion for the company’s software platform, services, and geographic reach. The Citywide Platform would see the addition of a proprietary Citywide GIS and a CMMS being added in 2015, as well as the initial version of Citywide Budgeting through the company’s acquisition of FMW in 2016. This would be the start of the first multi-model and mobile-ready cloud-based EAMS solution in the market. With the exceptional growth of the software and clients based in Canada and the United States, the company would eventually rebrand itself as PSD Citywide in 2021 as a full-service municipal advisory and software company focused on the public sector.

One of the first announcements to come from PSD Citywide as it celebrates its 20 years is a newly-branded community outreach program called “PSD CityKind”. While the company has been actively supporting local charities and organizations for years, this newly branded program will help take the efforts to a new level. Designed to help mobilize team members in each office to do good within the community through volunteering and fundraising, PSD CityKind has already identified multiple charitable and community-focused initiatives for 2023. It is hoped that this new volunteer-led internal program will grow as the company expands with new offices and team members based in cities across North America.
Updates on other initiatives and celebrations as part of the 20th anniversary will be announced on the company’s social media channels throughout 2023.
