As part of our services, we provide training to new and advanced Citywide software users.

Get started with any of PSD Citywide’s series of self-guided virtual training courses developed by the Academy’s expert trainers.

These courses are for users of the Citywide Asset Manager (AM), Maintenance Manager (MM), and GIS modules. Each course is tailored to different experience levels and allows you to learn at your own pace with the flexibility to stop, rewind, and pause the session within the allotted time period.

Course Offerings

Choose from beginner courses to advanced functions

Course AM1 – AM New User Training

Prerequisites: No prerequisites needed. This course is intended for first-time users of Citywide Asset Manager or as a refresher.

Learning Objectives:

  • Citywide Administration – setting up classifications, new users, roles and permissions, databases, attributes
  • Inventory and Data Management – customize inventory, searching and filtering, exporting, adding new assets, financial adjustments
  • Upload Centre – using the upload centre for new acquisitions and adjustments, and asset sync
  • Reporting – running financial reports like amortization and transaction reports

2.5 hours

Registration Fee:

$295.00 per client organization – each client can select as many staff as they would like to join the virtual course

Course AM2 – AM Advanced Training – Asset Management Features & Reporting

Prerequisites: Some working knowledge of Citywide (either through taking the new user training or using the system independently).

Learning Objectives:

  • Replacement Costs – using Citywide’s tools to update replacement cost, tips and tricks to quickly update multiple assets at once
  • Condition Assessments – entering most up to date information, tips and tricks to quickly update multiple assets at once
  • Managing and scheduling profiles at the asset level
  • Reporting – running asset management reports like annual requirements and replacement profile reports, and levels of service reports like condition and risk reports

2.5 hours

Course AM3 – Asset Manager Advanced Training – TCA Features

Prerequisites: Some working knowledge of Citywide (either through taking the new user training or using the system independently).

Learning Objectives:

  • Preparation – cleaning up and preparing your database for year-end entries
  • Year-end Adjustments – completing YE adjustments including new acquisitions, full/partial disposals, additions, writedowns, transfers
  • Upload Centre – tips and tricks on using the upload centre vs. manual entries
  • Data Assurance and Reporting – running reports to verify and confirm data, and tips on how to update any misclassified assets or any incorrect data
  • Year-end Entries Checklist – all participants receive a checklist to assist with YE entries

Course MM1 – Maintenance Manager New User Training

Prerequisites: None. This is intended for first-time users of Maintenance Manager CMMS.

Learning Objectives:

  • Logging and navigation
  • Creating service requests and work orders
  • Approving service requests to work orders
  • Completing and closing service requests and work orders
  • Creating and searching for service requests and work orders via GIS
  • Customizing dashboards and reporting

2 hours, 15 minutes

Course MM2 – Maintenance Manager Advanced Training – Customers & Properties

Prerequisites: Some working knowledge of Citywide Maintenance Manager.

Learning Objectives:

  • Adding customers
  • Adding properties
  • Linking customers and properties
  • Using the Upload Centre (ULC) to update customers and properties
  • Best practices and tips

Course Length:

1 hour

Registration Fee:

$195.00 per client organization – each client can select as many staff as they would like to join the virtual course

Course MM3 – Maintenance Manager Advanced Training – Preventative & Scheduled Maintenance

Prerequisites: MM New User Training or some previous working knowledge of Citywide Maintenance Manager. This course is intended for MM Administrators or Operations or maintenance managers that will be building and configuring schedules and inspections within the system.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore some examples and know the difference between preventative and scheduled maintenance activities
  • How to configure & complete preventative maintenance activities
  • How to configure & complete scheduled inspections
  • Other ways find & create scheduled Work Orders (dashboard, grid search & GIS)
  • How to report on inspections and scheduled & preventative maintenance

Course G1 – GIS Viewer New User Training

Prerequisites: No prerequisites needed. This course is intended for first-time users of Citywide GIS Viewer or as a refresher course of the Citywide GIS functionality.

Learning Objectives:

  • Navigating/selecting/analyzing GIS data
  • Customizing layer symbols, text, and colour styles
  • Querying/searching/filtering GIS and AM asset data
  • Creating/editing layers and grouping assets (coordinated IDs)
  • Linking to assets in Citywide Asset Manager
  • Styling layers based on asset attributes (risk, condition etc.)
  • Integrating with Citywide Maintenance Manager (creating Work Orders, Service Requests, and Preventative Maintenance schedules from the map)
  • Integrating with Citywide Permits (creating a permit from the map)
